Terms & Conditions of Big Blue Events and Boulders Beach Function House

Ceremonies & Weddings


General

Rates are valid from 1 September 2009 to 31 September 2010.
All prices quoted are inclusive of vat and subject to change without prior notice
Music stops at 24h00
Children under the age of 12 years will be charged 50% of the agreed menu package price
Flowers are subject to seasonal availability and prices are influenced by market value
No food or beverage may be brought onto the premises for consumption without written consent from Big Blue Events Management
The person making the booking is responsible for the conduct of all guests attending
Big Blue Events reserves the right to utilize any photographs for marketing purposes
A maximum increase of 15% annually can be anticipated
Final number of guests to be confirmed 21 days prior to function date
All changes and cancellations must be made in writing by the client

Booking & payment procedures

A provisional booking will be made for 7 days from the date of enquiry
A deposit of 50% for weddings and 50% for ceremonies will secure your date and venue
If a deposit is not paid within the allocated 7 days from enquiry, Big Blue Events reserves the right to cancel a provisional booking without any notice to the client
Upon paying the deposit of 50% for weddings and 50% for ceremonies, you undertake to have Big Blue Events facilitate your wedding
Negligence to inform us if you are not using the venues booked due to whatever reason, will result in holding you liable for the full quoted amount
The balance of the function is payable 21 days prior to the function
Should the payment not be received by this date, the booking will be deemed cancelled and released for re-booking
Interest of 2.5% per day will be charged on overdue accounts
Please note: in case of a cancellation, for whatever reason, the deposit of 50% for the full quoted amount is not refundable
Payments can be made by cash, cheques or a direct transfer into our bank account. We regret no credit card payments allowed

Loss / Damage

Neither Big Blue Events nor it’s agents or employees shall be liable for any damages or loss which may be caused to any of the goods of the customer, nor for any injury or loss of life of the customer or it's guests due to negligence or any other cause whatsoever
The customer further indemnifies and holds harmless Big Blue Events against any claim that may be made against the Company by any third party relating to the provisions of the clause
Should any damage occur to the building, gardens, décor, carpets or linen during the function the client shall be held responsible and billed accordingly
Big Blue Events will not be held liable for unforeseen service interruptions such as water, electricity or sanitation

Bar Service

We offer a choice of two bar facilities – CASH BAR & LIMIT BAR
No spirits, beer, soft drinks or food is to be brought and consumed on the premises without prior consent of Big Blue Events Management
A corkage fee will apply to any bottles of alcohol brought onto the premises
Cash bar or open bar is allowed
Should you request an open bar limit, this account must be settled 21 days
prior to the function date

Menu

Certain dishes served are subject to seasonal availability
All prices are inclusive of vat and are subject to change without prior notification
Should the actual number of guests exceed that of the guaranteed number given, billing will then be charged on the actual number of guests
Menu to be finalised 21 days prior to function date

Waitrons

1 waitron per 20 guests
Minimum of 6 hours
Waitrons and bar attendants cut off time 24h00 for evening weddings, and 16h00 for morning weddings.

Cancellation

Please note: in case of a cancellation, for whatever reason, the deposit of 50% is not refundable, and the following applies:
75% cancellation fee for the full quoted amount will be charged for notice less than 60 days
100% cancellation fee for the full quoted amount will be charged for notice less than 30 days
